I am happy to share that the national Journalism Education Association is honoring me in Philly this fall by naming me as one of four "Friends of Scholastic Journalism." As a huge fan of the late Ed Asner, it's especially delightful to me that years ago, the "Lou Grant" television show won the same award - as did the real life heroes Mary Beth Tinker, a champion of student free speech (she's from Iowa! <3) and the National Federation of Press Women. Thank you to my friend, the wonderful journalism teacher Mitch Eden, for nominating me!
