Accra, GHANA – As a student intern at a fashion house for two months, I was involved in tasks that helped me understand the inner workings of a fashion business.

I was eager to gain practical experience in the fashion industry, and the internship provided me with the perfect platform.

One of the most exciting aspects was working on the soft opening of a new shop. It was thrilling to see the shop come together, from setting up displays to ensuring that all products were properly stocked and priced.

When I steamed and prepared merchandise for display, I learned the importance of attention to detail and presentation in the fashion industry.

I also had the opportunity to work on tagging and pricing shoes and other products, which helped me develop my organizational skills.

In addition, I also had the opportunity to manage social media platforms, where I was responsible for recreating engaging content, making posts, responding to customer inquiries, and attracting clients online. This experience helped me develop my skills in content creation, social media management, and customer service.

Also, interacting with customers in-store and online allowed me to refine my communication skills, learning how to effectively respond to queries, address concerns, and provide excellent service.

The highlight for me was working on the soft opening of the shop. It was  a fantastic experience. I was able to see firsthand how a fashion house prepares for a new launch, from setting up displays to ensuring that all products were properly stocked and priced.

I got to direct a shoot towards the opening and it came out beautifully. It was exhilarating to see the shop come to life, and I felt proud to be a part of the team that made it happen.

Overall, my experience as an intern at the fashion house was incredibly rewarding. I gained valuable skills and insights, made new connections, and had the opportunity to work on and direct exciting projects.
