Dresden readies for neo-Nazis

Dresden, GERMANY – In preparation for a neo-Nazi demonstration in the city, police set up search areas to screen people before they entered the area.

The atmosphere, which had been calm, became increasingly heated.

Young people in particular were checked.

The right-wing activists of the Freie Kräfte Sachsen, or “Free Forces of Saxony” organized today’s demonstration, which it billed as family-friendly.

Organizers claim that their event is the only thing that will commemorate the victims of the Dresden bombing in World War II – despite official events held by the city.
