Niagara Falls is a spectacular sight, whether from an observation tower, where this photo was taken, or from the walkways around it. The people in the photo are using a path to the “Crow’s Nest” observation spot.

NIAGARA FALLS, New York, U.S.A. – One of the most
famous attractions in the United States and Canada is Niagara Falls, a place of
natural beauty surrounded by tons of museums, souvenir shops and food stands.

Although I’ve seen plenty of stores and
restaurants, I’d never been to Niagara Falls before.

I didn’t come to get
caught in the tourist trap. I came for the waterfall, and I wasn’t
disappointed.

I was surprised by how huge and powerful the
waterfall was.

A view of Niagara Falls.

The closest we got to the waterfall was on the
amazing “Maid of the Mist” boat ride. We rode right up to the falls, through
the Niagara River, located on the border of Canada and the United States.

From the American side of Niagara Falls, a

view of the Canadian city of Niagara Falls.

It definitely lived up to its name. We got sprayed
with the cold mist falling from hundreds of feet above.
Everywhere we looked, there were incredible sights.
On the Canadian side, we could see the skyscrapers and a big Ferris wheel in
the city of Niagara Falls, Canada.
On the American side, hundreds of tiny-looking
people were walking up on observation ramps and platforms up above the falls. What’s
on this side of the falls is the fantastic Niagara Falls State Park, which has
incredible views of the wild, raging river and even wifi.

from the middle of the Niagara
River on the Maid of the Mist.

On the boat, we could hear the falling water
pummeling the river below with extreme force. On board, a recording told the
incredible stories of how daredevils went over the falls in barrels and how a
7-year-old boy even survived the fall in just a swimsuit.
Niagara Falls attracts people from all over the
world, all tourists like us. The natural beauty brings us all together.
We didn’t realize how high up we were on the
observation platform until we saw it from below. From the platform, we saw a
pretty blue bridge spanning between the U.S. and Canada and had a full view of
the falls.

I liked how the water fell from the top in whatever
shape the rocks were on the edge of the cliff, making a jagged line of falling
water.
Niagara Falls is actually two giant waterfalls
along the Niagara River that carries water from Lake Erie into Lake Ontario.
One is the American Falls and the other is the larger, Horseshoe Falls which
curves around in a semi-circle.

After the boat ride, we walked up stone steps to the
“Crow’s Nest” observation area right near the American Falls.

Here, we saw the
mist flying in the air, curving as wind blew on it from below.
The white mist made beautiful cloud-like shapes.
I couldn’t stop looking at them. It was
breathtaking.
