Maid Of The Mist: A Niagara Falls Delight

NIAGARA FALLS, New York, U.S.A. – Niagara Falls offers many attractions to appeal to
tourists who come from all over the world, but my personal favorite is the Maid
of the Mist boat ride on the New York side.
This converted tugboat takes people right up to the Falls, so close that they get
sprayed with their mist.

Of course, this could cause lots of soaking, except for the wonderful plastic ponchos they provided us.
These blue ponchos covered us head to toe, and came complete
with a hood and drawstrings.
Practical and stylish, these are sure to be the next trend in designer fashion.

But climbing up the stairs onto the boat, I nearly suffered a “death by poncho” after tripping over my wonderful protective gear.
The water roars louder, smells stronger, and the falls look all the more impressive. Even on my third visit to Niagara Falls, I’m mesmerized and can’t get enough of them.
And it’s not just me who’s mesmerized.

Throughout the half-hour boat ride, passengers expressed their amazement. Many people took photos, stretching and crouching and doing whatever they could in order to be able to capture the grandeur before their eyes.
The Falls draws quite a diverse crowd; people of all different nations, languages, and religions. And although we were all so different, there was a sense of unity in knowing that we all came for the same purpose: to appreciate the beauty of Niagara Falls.
