Such A Nice Crowd

To kick off a special GlobalGiving challenge, more than 50 people stopped by Youth Journalism International’s public reception Saturday at the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford — along with a half dozen students who attended via Skype from Uganda, Egypt, Scotland, Canada and England.

Kiernan Majerus-Collins, David Katz and Erez Bittan talk via Skype with Lama Tawakkol in Cairo during the reception.

Youth Journalism International is grateful to everyone who turned out — students, alumni, parents, friends and others — and to the Twain House for its hospitality and willingness to serve as host. There is nothing like it in the world.
We also appreciate the generosity of local merchants who helped us out: Hubbard’s Florist in Bristol, Hall’s Market in West Hartford, Big Y World Class Market and Trader Joe’s.
