Accra, GHANA – Graduating from high school is considered as one life’s great accomplishments and provides many advantages in life.
Completing high school successfully was the best thing that ever happened to me.
For me, it meant that I was done with a chapter of my life. High school stole three years of my life that I will never forget. I really learned a lot, both academically and domestically since it was a boarding school.
High school was that period in my life where I realized who my real friends were and dropped others due to petty reasons.
Three years ago, I was a fresh girl surrounded with different girls from all walks of life, anxiously running from class to class, scared of being late for social gatherings.
But here I am, having the full liberty of my life. Done with the stress, depriving myself from sleep and having many sacrifices in order to produce good grades.
The only countdown I did that drew a big smile on my face was my countdown for my final exams, I knew that I was not going to have another semester and I was DONE. It was great knowing that I could now choose my own path instead of being forced into things.
I can now do what I want in life and it excites me.
But there and then, I realized completing high school meant that I was about to start life. Planning for my life and choosing what’s best for me will prepare me for the next educational stage.
Although I always referred high school to a prison, I cannot deny the fact that it was really fun and amazing.
