Illustration, Brazil, Nikky footprint cropped

A big greedy footprint smashes the Indigenous Yanomami’s culture. The drawing is a reference to the Painting 28 from Orlando Nakeuxima Manihipi-theri, an Indigenous Brazilian artist. The original symbolizes the night and the Xapiripës. According to a ethnographic study led by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Xapiripë, in the Yanomami culture, are spirits of the forest that appears for the shamans dancing and singing.
