As the YJI conference is just around the corner, we wanted to introduce our senior leadership team that will be keeping our students safe.Jackie Majerus is a co-founder of YJI, Master Teaching Editor and Executive Director at YJI. She spent more than two decades as a newspaper reporter.Steve Collins is a co-founder of YJI and the State House reporter since 2016 at the Sun Journal in Maine, USA. Steve was named Maine Journalist of the Year in 2022 by the Maine Press Association. Steve is a Master Teaching Editor and Board President for YJI. He holds a degree in History from the University of Virginia.Mary Majerus-Collins is an Associate Editor with YJI and played a critical role in the first conference in 2023. She holds a degree in Chinese Language and Literature with a minor in Linguistics from Middlebury College. She is attending graduate school in Nanjing, China working toward a master’s degree in international relations.Holly Hostettler-Davies is an Associate Editor with YJI and has been active in YJI since 2020 and holds a first-class degree in English Literature and Creative Writing and is currently studying a Masters of Law in International Human rights. She is also a committed gender equality advocate with a keen interest in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). She was the first Youth SRHR Advisor for the UK Government where she attended the United Nations' Commission on Population and Development. Arooj Khalid is a YJI alum from Pakistan, who is now an educator and journalist advocating for climate education in Pakistan. She was a Fulbright Scholar and has a master's degree in education policy from Harvard University. She has previously worked to make science more fun for children in Pakistan. Khalid is an active member of the YJI Board of Directors and has been an important part of every conference.The senior leadership team can't wait to welcome all the students to the conference! ...
