Wolfmother: Return of Rock

MILLRY, Alabama, U.S.A. — Hard rock has made a mainstream comeback in the form of Aussie band, Wolfmother.

Chris Ross (bass/keyboards), Myles Heskett (drums), and Andrew Stockdale (vocals/guitar), make up this incredible hard rock trio from Sydney, Australia that’s making a splash in the United
States.

With their mix of retro beats, storytelling lyrics, and rock energy, it is no surprise that they have won many awards over the course of their career.

Wolfmother is definitely not a band to be missed.

Legendary rockers The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Jimi Hendrix Experience greatly influenced Wolfmother, according to their official Myspace page. With influences like that, how can their self-titled debut album, Wolfmother, not be amazingly powerful?

Illustrator Frank Frazetta did the amazing album art and the album debuted at #3 on the Australian music charts.

Wolfmother’s debut album was #15 in Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Albums and the single “Dimension” also was #9 in the legendary magazine’s list of 100 Best Songs for 2006.

Rolling Stone also named them one of the “Top 10 Bands to Watch 2006.”

Another one of Wolfmother’s hit singles, “Woman,” was recently nominated in the Best Hard Rock Performance category of the 49th Annual Grammy Awards. Tune in February 11, 2007 to check it out.

If you are looking for new music to rock out to, Wolfmother is the perfect band for you. Their amazing energy and music makes their self-titled debut album one of the best hard rock albums of this generation.

All 13 tracks have their own edge that sets them apart from the rest.

Wolfmother definitely sets the standard for future bands.
