Charlotte, North Carolina, U.S.A. – A Star is Born depicts the journey of a passionate couple and their progression through fame in the music world.
Starring Lady Gaga as Ally and Bradley Cooper as Jack, this film is nominated for many top Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress.
It offers star power while answering the important question of whether Bradley can sing and Gaga can act.

Despite Jack’s adoring fans, he cannot stop drinking and getting high. One night, after one of his concerts, he ends up in a drag bar to find Ally the main act of the night.
Ally’s voice is incredible, but no record labels have noticed her. She believes her big nose stops her from becoming a star. But with Jack in the audience that night, her life would never be the same.
After witnessing an incredible performance, Jack stays after to talk with Ally. He tells her she’s beautiful, and sparks fly.
While the story’s beginning is cliché, the love that slowly binds the two together is filled with passion and intimacy.
The romance is believable because Jack and Ally are not perfect. The viewer never forgets Jack’s struggle with addiction and Ally’s self-image, which haunts the relationship.
Throughout the movie, we are reminded of how Ally and Jack are flawed. A Star is Born does not pretend to be a fairy tale.
I realized that the struggles facing Ally and Jack can be a harsh reality for many stars – the movie shines a light onto the dark side of fame. This is a cautionary tale for YouTube sensations, young celebrities, and reality stars.
Despite the undercurrent of darkness, I found Ally’s story inspiring. Anything can happen to anyone, but it takes courage.
While Jack ignited her confidence, Ally had the talent, drive, and determination to become a star.
I didn’t expect to leave the theater inspired, a smile on my face, and tears in my eyes.
Now, to answer the burning questions … Bradley can sing and Gaga can act. The question remains: will Oscar agree?
