Back to school?

Thursday โ€“ Bossier City, Louisiana (10:30 p.m.) — I might get to finish school!

My cousin Kristy talked to her old college friend today, a man named Jeff. His mother lives only about an hour away from where we are now, and she offered us a place to park the new camper my dad bought for us. There was a camper lot across from the hotel. Dad bought one of the last two. Itโ€™s small, but I think itโ€™s nice. Itโ€™s like being a gypsy and living in a dollhouse.

Kristy mentioned how I donโ€™t have a school anymore, and Jeffโ€™s mother offered to talk to her friend, a member of this schoolโ€™s board of directors. Itโ€™s called LSMSA, the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. Itโ€™s only for juniors and seniors, and you have to live in a dorm. Iโ€™m nervous about that because I canโ€™t sleep at all around other people, but itโ€™s worth it โ€” to finish school!

Tomorrow, I have to go to the school for an interview. I need to wear something nice, but I donโ€™t know if I have anything pretty enough to make a good impression. All my nice clothes were things we had to leave at home. God, I hope I get in. I really want to finish school. Itโ€™s a very good school, too. The curriculum is โ€œchallenging.โ€ I hope if I do get in, Iโ€™ll do well there.

I might get to finish school! Iโ€™m so excited! I canโ€™t believe it!

Iโ€™m going to bed. I canโ€™t wait to thank Jeffโ€™s mom. I hope I get in. Dad says itโ€™d be very good for everything that I get in to this school. He wants me to go there so badly. I donโ€™t want to let anyone down. Iโ€™m nervous.

I guess Iโ€™ll just have to see how tomorrow goes.
